I was reached out to by Wilderton - a non-alcoholic brand of spirits - to join Wilderton’s April 2021 influencer partnership. The campaign deliverables were to develop one mocktail recipe, to post once to Instagram Feed, and to post twice to Instagram Story on my account @cheyp.
For their campaign concept, they sent me both of their non-alcoholic spirits along with their Brand Guidelines for me to develop a mocktail recipe:
Earthen expression
Brand Expression: Reminiscent of hikes through a dense Oregon rainforest mixed with memories from exotic spice markets of the East.
Tasting Notes: smoke, spice, wood, rose
Lustre expression
Brand Expression: Inspired by picnics in the lush, fertile valleys of the Pacific Northwest, and dreams of sun-drench Mediterranean coastlines.
Tasting Notes: citrus, herbaceous, floral, bitter orange, lavender
I pulled inspiration from their Brand Guidelines and target audience:
“Picnics in the lush, fertile valleys of the Pacific Northwest,” “Enjoying time in nature,” and “Sitting outside with friends”
“Craft cocktail making,” “Creative new food trends,” and “Creative drinking”
I conceptualized for the campaign to be outdoors, and styled for a persona who is interested in trendy, creative drinking. For recipe development, my goal was to create a drink that not only paired well with the flavor profile of their spirits, but was aesthetic, to promote the most engagement and interest on social media for the brand.
While the brand only asked for one recipe, I was able to tailor the mocktail recipe for each of their expressions, and post two recipes.
Mocktail Recipe with Earthen
ROSE COLLINS
Add 5-6 ice cubes in Tom Collins (I made rose petal ice cubes). Shake 1.5 oz Wilderton Earthen, .75 oz rose syrup*, and .75 oz lemon juice with ice until chilled, and then strain into glass. Top with club soda. Garnish with a rose.
*Rose Syrup
Add .5 cup sugar, .5 cup water, and ripped petals from one rose to a pot and bring to a boil. Immediately remove from heat and steep one hour then filter.
Mocktail Recipe with Lustre
BLOOD ORANGE THYME COLLINS
Add 5-6 ice cubes in Tom Collins (I made blood orange ice cubes). Shake 1.5 oz Wilderton Lustre, .75 oz blood orange thyme syrup**, and .75 oz lemon juice with ice until chilled, and then strain into glass. Top with club soda. Garnish with blood orange slice and thyme
**Blood Orange Syrup
Add .5 cup sugar, .5 cup water, and the zest and juice of one blood orange to a pot and bring to a boil. Immediately remove from heat, add .5 oz thyme, and steep one hour then filter.
I sourced and styled talent to photograph the campaign with the brand’s “sitting outside with friends” in mind. Then to produce the campaign, I captured, manipulated, and posted imagery.
I used all brand requirements for copy, hashtags, brand tag for @wilderton_free, personalized promo code, and for Story posts, swipe up links. Wilderton was tagged as a Business Partner.
